The quality assurance period for the main parts of the elevator and the safety protection devices shall not be less than five years from the time of passing the supervision and inspection. In the quality assurance period, there are quality problems, the elevator manufacturing unit shall be responsible for free repair or replacement.
Specific parts of the warranty requirements
The main components of the elevator include traction machine, wire rope, guide sheave, counter rope sheave, guide rail, guide shoe, guide rail bracket, car frame, car body, door machine, door fan, door set, door pulley, counterweight, compensation chain (compensation cable), drive host, main board controller, frequency converter, control cabinet, contactor, relay, speed limiter, safety clamp, buffer, etc. The warranty period of these components shall be five years from the supervision and inspection, and the warranty period shall be five years from the supervision and inspection. These components in the warranty period of quality problems, the production company to bear the corresponding responsibility.
Relevant regulations and standards
Elevator national standard refers to the national standard for elevator safety implementation in China, which was implemented on February 1, 1998 in China. The domestic elevator heavy load standard lags behind compared with the European standard. In addition, the State Administration for Market Supervision and Regulation (“SAMSAR”) issued the Safety Code for the Manufacture and Installation of Elevators, a series of standards implemented on July 1, 2022, which aims to improve the safety performance of elevators. According to the Law of the People's Republic of China on Safety of Special Equipment, the warranty period for elevators should be no less than two years, and after the warranty period is exceeded, the elevator user unit should bear the maintenance costs on its own.
